events to go for

in Race Chat
hi all,
I am brand new to the tri....
Been a decent swimmer, done a 5k swim for charity now looking to extend further. All my efforts are for charity. Having said that I like the personal goals of being able to say... "i done that!!!!"
Anyway starting my proper training this week. booked in for proper swimming lessons next sunday (after old firm game.... lol) bought myself a racing bike (claud butler san remo 2008 - I know its entry level so don't mock).
Anyway, what events are best for me to apply for next year, as I personally don't think I'll be ready to compete till Dec/ Jan.
any advice welcome.
Cheers

No point us suggesting a tri near the south coast if you live in Newcastle :-)

But it depends where you live
You could try a Sprint, just take it easy on the run, aim to finish
