Novice training camps

I'm thinking of doing the novice training camp run by the London Triathlon organisers. It's a bit pricey for a broke student though (around £50) so I want to make sure it's good before I part with my cash (don't mind spending it or more, just don't want to spend it if I'm not going to get anything useful in return). Has anyone done this event before, are they useful at all? Does anyone know of any other good training camps for novices?
