Trek 1000 T price advice

I’m looking for a cheap second hand road bike to put my MTB day behind me. I have no knowledge on road bikes at all.... making me a naive road newbie in regards to group sets and equipment.



I have heard good things about 2nd hand trek 1000 bikes on the forum but unsure what would be a fair price on the following bike



Trek 1000T 2005 model is reasonable £270



if any one has any other good alternative please let us know

    Trek, Giant and Specialized entry level road bikes are always worth a punt.



    That seems a bit steep to me for a 4 year old bike. Offer him £200 and see what he says. It's a buyers market

    i'm still unsure of what equipment should i be looking for on an entry level bike?

    To be honest mate, buy the bike and see how you get on for around 200 it will give you an idea if you like it.



    And from there you will learn a bit more about it and what you need to get.







    Lat thing you want to do is buy a bike for like 1500 quid and find out that you just dont like the sport.

    (Thats what i did with my MTB last year, now its worth 1000( or 900 if someone on here wants to buy it)
