The first edition of the Dartington Duathlon will take place on Sunday 24th March 2013. It is a sprint distance event comprising a 5 km run, 20 km cycle, and a 2.5 km run. The Event HQ and Transition Zone are located at the heart of the magnificent Dartington Hall Estate, with ample parking and an excellent selection of restaurants, shops, and attractions for you and your family to visit post-race. Accommodation is also available on site if you need it.
The first run is on tarmac roads and gravel paths, mainly within the Dartington Hall Estate. The cycle route, primarily on open roads, is undulating but with an excellent surface and a very fast second half. The race finishes with a tough 2.5 km off-road run within the grounds of the estate. There are a few tree routes to negotiate but nothing that you can't manage in standard road running shoes.
The race will be timed using an electronic timing service. Competitors will be given their times at the end of the race and the full list will be published on the event website. Participants will compete in Age Categories and prizes will be awarded for each age and gender category. All participants will receive a commemorative event T-Shirt.
