FREE Triathlon Taster training sessions for beginners

If you're considering doing a triathlon for the first time, getting started with your training might seem like a daunting prospect. Which discipline to start with first? How should you split your training? What do all the rules mean?

To help beginners’ prepare for their first race, Tri Together, the award winning beginners’ triathlon series, will be holding FREE* training sessions in London and Lancaster in the run up to their events (Glasgow dates to be announced shortly).

Triathlon coaches from local triathlon clubs will be providing expert advice on all aspects from the swim to transition. In London, Swim for Tri will be on hand to give specialist swim advice in the pool. The dates and times are:

London
Crystal Palace National Sports Centre
Saturday 30 March, 2-5pm
Saturday 11 May, 2-5pm

Lancaster
Salt Ayre Sports Centre
Sunday 14 April, 9.30am-12.30pm

The format for the taster sessions are the same:

[*:12lu0as2]Outdoor bike/run/transitions session - exploring the course, how to set up transition, bike safety/operation check, gentle training.[/*:m:12lu0as2]
[*:12lu0as2]Questions and answer session including rules of triathlon.[/*:m:12lu0as2][/list:u:12lu0as2]

There will also be an opportunity for participants to try out sports wheelchairs and alternative cycles such as recumbent trikes, hand cycles and tandem bicycles.

Secure your place at the taster sessions
The taster sessions are open to all but places are limited. For this reason, you do need to register and we ask for a deposit of £5. The sessions are free and so payment will only be taken if you register but don't attend.
