Any advice for May Super Sprint?
in General Chat
Hi guys,
My girlfriend has just a small idea that she may wish to try a triathlon. Her 'bogey' discipline is the run, so I'm looking for any suggestions for a short run triathlon during May. We live in London and the New Forest, so can travel to a number of locations across the South.
Any ideas?
Regards
Nick

suggest you have a look on the "triathletes homepage" .. the link will give an option to type in say your area or dates etc so you can hopefully find a race up her street so to speak ..............

Thames turbo race 3 (may 29th) - http://www.thamesturbo.co.uk/memberforum/viewtopic.php?t=1034
Human Race Eton Super Sprint (may 13/14th) - http://www.humanrace.co.uk/
I made my start with these events and can't recommend them highly enough.
All well organised and beginner friendly, though you'll need a wetsuit for Eton.
Both runs are flat - eton is 2 laps and TT is a figure of 8 around bushy park.
Click ME and scroll down to see some panoramic images from an Eton race last year.
Hope that helps
i recently did a very short race near the new forest, it was just a small very friendly one, i travelled down from the midlands the night before and the lady organising it even found me somewhere to stay for the night, they really were helpful. i know they are doing some more races through the year mainly short sprints and super sprints i think, try emailing [email protected] i think thats the address might be results triathlon. but look on the british triathlon website for more races.
also thames turbo tri club seem very friendly and do a few fun races throughout the year.
good luck

I can recommend the Blenhiem triathlon it has a women only afternoon this year, that includes a sprint (750m/20K/5K) and a super sprint (400m/10k/2.5k).it's all within the grounds of Blenhiem palace no traffic and great views to take your mind off your run if it's not your best area.
It runs on the weekend of the 20-21st of May (Women only event is Saturday Afternoon)
for more info the website is www.thelondontriathlon.com (it's the sister event to London)
Good luck

Beacon Leisure have a 750m swim(open water)/35k bike/8k run organised for the 14 May just outside Ringwood.
Follow the link to their site: http://www.beaconleisure.co.uk/
I've done a couple of their duathlons so far & they are very well organised & friendly.

I think the first one is the Mad March which was -4 degrees I think on the bike this year ha ha. Was a bit nippy for sure... She does events most months so I'm sure something will suit. Find them on www.resultstriathlon.co.uk or speak to Michelle Noble via Facebook
