The Nation's Triathlon¨ Washington, DC September 29th 2007
Greetings from The Nation's Triathlon® in Washington, DC. We hope your training season is going well. In 2007 we are serving up an outstanding Olympic distance triathlon in Washington, DC! Competitors will swim, bike and run right past The White House, The Washington Monument, The Lincoln Memorial, The J Edgar Hoover Building, The Old Post Office Pavilion, The Federal Trade Commission, The Watergate Building, The WWII Memorial, The John Paul Jones Memorial, The FDR Memorial and The Bureau Of Engraving and Printing. The entire route will be closed by Metropolitan and US Park Police. There is no other course like it in the world!
The Nation's Triathlon® weekend kicks off on Thursday, Sep 27th and Friday, Sep 28th with The Nation's Triathlon® Multisport Fitness Expo. The Expo is the operations center for packet pickup, mandatory bike check and fitness seminars. Race day is Saturday, Sep 29th 8am start.
The Nation's Triathlon® features an incredibly exciting finish line experience. Competitors run straight down Pennsylvania Avenue towards The National Capitol then turn and run towards The White House finishing on Pennsylvania Avenue at 12th St NW. The Nation's Triathlon® Finish Line Festival and Awards Presentation will be held at the finish line area on Pennsylvania Ave between 12th and 13th NW. The Capitol Building creates a very dramatic and moving backdrop to the Festival and finish line activities. Vendors, food, porta potties and seating areas will be availble at the finish line. Families, friends and the public are welcome.
Every finisher receives a medal, a Nation's Triathlete® tech shirt and other goodies. We are serving hot food at the finish line and all finishers get a complimentary post race massage. Complimentary buses shuttle competitors, family and friends between the transition area and the finish line starting at 8am.
