I'm new to Triathlon. I completed 1 Sprint Tri in Sept last year and got the 'bug'.
I'm planning on doing Olympic distances before an half Iron towards the end of the season.
I have step up training again from early Jan and i'm training by heart rate. This is ok when i'm on the bike and in zone 2 I feel like i'm actually doing some work and feeling the benefit. However when it comes down to the run i'm struggling to remain in zone 2, i feel like i'm near enough walking and not getting any benefit. I can go much quicker and when I do my recovery time is no less.
My background is running based, i'm a complete novice when it comes to bike and swim.
Should I contiune to training in zone 2 when running?

Heart rate zone training takes some meneeltal disipline.
I am also doing the zone 2 running thing. Its not about how you feeling during ( it should b e easy) Its about the endurance your body will start to develop.
Stick with it. After awhile you will need to reassess your zones!
