Short cage long cage?

Hi everyone can someone tell me the difference between a short cage derailleur and a long one?

    Short cage derailleur is what most bike have on them and is designed for a double chainset with a smallish cassette. Long cages are generally used for triple chainsets and if you want massive cogs on the cassette or MTB etc
