Total immersion swimming - what is it?

What exactly is total immersion (TI) swimming? Briefly looked at their website and still don't get it. it's not that swim against a curent thing? If so where and how do you do it and does it work? Anyone?!

    it's basically a technique for learning to swim better - more effectively moving through the water. There are courses, books, DVDs, etc. I have a book & went on a workshop (excellent - with Slippery Fish) that uses some aspects of it, but other stuff too.
