too much oil

Too much oil on the old chain is no good as you get more dust and other rubbish sticking...any pointers how to get rid of it? Wipe it down and using fairy liquid or and then grease up again?.

    wipe it down, i use a cloth dampened with degreaser, then add a small amount of bike lube to the inside of the chain only and wipe off the excess.

    I just give it a wipe with some kitchen towel to take the excess off the outside.
