Wetsuit advice to avoid a "tight chest"

Hi All,

I did my first triathlons last year and had a wetsuit that i rented for the season, but i found that it was really quite restrictive across my chest (i am asthmatic, but i was fine out of the wet suit). I was wondering whether anyone could recommend a wetsuit (or have any advice) that would help rremove this issue?

Cheers

Hi Christopher, the best advice here is really to try on as many as possible! Check out last year's grouptest for an idea of which models we rated best:

Zoggs put up a triathlon wet suit guide on Facebook too - might be worth a read:

I tried on a load at the 220 show recently, of all of them the Zone3 Aspire won out, it was the most mobile and lightest across the chest - for a sensible budget anyway!

Check your sizing though - if possible try one on. Despite weighing 72Kg and being 5' 11 I ended up with an 'SM' which is for someone below both of those measurements!!!

Irritatingly, it was also cheaper to buy from Wiggle than at the show, but hey, I got to try it on and that was worth more to me!

When it comes to comfort, it is best to know what kind of wetsuit goes well with your body. So, getting the right one is really imperative. That is why, I would like to share you a Triathlon wetsuit Faqs from OneTri.com. I find it quite helpful myself so take a look as they've got advice regarding tight chest. There are indeed some instances that the chest part is a bit tight while with other parts are too loose. Technically, a wetsuit changes or loosen up once they've soaked on water.
