Home Training for a Triathlon

PIG ultra duathlon


I have an eye to do the event in Wales in June which consists of 6 mile mountain run, 100 mile road bike and 20 mile trail run. I have run marathons and am decent on a road bike. 

I cant see any duathlon plans for this type of event I was going to follow an IM schedule but replace the swims with gentle jogging and / or core strength work 

thoughts appeciated 




  • The principle's the same as an IM I guess - be able to do the 6 mile mountain run easy enough to do the bike ride easy enough to complete a 20 mile run. For me I'd keep some swimming in though - might not be part of he race but it's good for recovery and (for me) injury prevention.
